Help us raise awareness about the impact of anxiety on teens.
Bayhill is currently fundraising to screen the documentary Angst for our students and parents. Anxiety disorders are currently on the rise among teens and young adults. Twenty-five percent of 13- to 18-year-olds have mild to moderate anxiety. Anxiety in children and teens often overlaps with depression.
While there are many causes of anxiety including childhood trauma, environmental pressures, and social conflicts, students with learning differences such as ADHD and dyslexia are exceptionally vulnerable to anxiety due to repeated school failure.
The powerful documentary Angst utilizes the power of film to tell the stories of many kids and teens who discuss their anxiety and its impact on their lives and relationships, as well as how they’ve found solutions and hope. In addition, the documentary provides discussions with mental health experts about the causes of anxiety and its sociological effects, along with the help, resources and tools available to address the condition.
Your donation will help us to bring this film to our Bayhill community to open up a dialogue among students, teachers, and parents. The event will feature a viewing of the 56-minute film, followed by a discussion and tips for helping teens managed anxiety.
If every family in our Bayhill Community – current, past, and affiliated – donates just $20, Bayhill will be able to fund this and future events like it.
As always, your support of Bayhill students is appreciated. Thank you.
Current Bayhill Parents can RSVP to the parent showings on October 15 at 4:00PM or 6:00PM. Here: RSVP
