I have worked in education for 10 years: First by teaching reading to young children at Kumon as a Senior in high school, next as a middle school ELD tutor and advocate while in college, and finally at Bayhill as a teaching assistant for two years, and the past three as a teacher. I completed my undergraduate education at the University of CA, Santa Cruz with a bachelor’s degree in English Language Literature and a minor in Modern European History. Once hired at Bayhill, I developed such a heart for the student population with learning differences that I changed my graduate school plans to pursue my Education Specialist Teaching Credential at San Francisco State. Through all of these experiences I have determined to support and then empower my students to tackle the highest academic challenges they can master. Our students are exceptionally intelligent, and yet so frequently unaware of the fact. I want to change that.
