Virtual Gala
Welcome to our Virtual Gala! Canceling our gala was a hard decision to make, but we knew it was the right one. We’d planned to get dressed up and celebrate our community together as we do each spring. In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, we decided to step into the present moment, continue to do our part with social distancing and go virtual. Now, we’ve made it easy for anyone who wants to help support Bayhill. Just click donate now and contribute however much you’d like.
Why You Should Donate
Our Student Body President, Alex Wick, has been in the news for her leadership with @CaClassof2020, an online community of seniors across the state on a mission to create massive virtual experiences to celebrate this milestone together. She was even interviewed by Michael Krasny on All Things Considered.
While these new and creative ways to celebrate are helpings our seniors make it through the COVID-19 pandemic, they deserve more. After all they’ve been through; we want to give them a lot more than an online celebration.
What the Virtual Gala Will Support
The school year has become exponentially more difficult for the Class of 2020. Because of COVID-19, We’ve had to cancel both prom and their beloved senior trip. Their graduation ceremony is postponed indefinitely. This news was a crushing blow to their spirits and still they all continue to push on and bring their best selves and supportive attitudes to remote learning every day.
Post COVID-19 Prom for the Class of 2020… in 2021!
Our goal is to make next year’s prom bigger and better than ever, inviting the Class of 2020 to come back next spring to enjoy the prom they never had. We plan on making it a night to remember by reserving a special location, decking it out with flowers and balloons, hiring an excellent DJ, serving dinner and having a photo booth so our students and grads can take home forever keepsakes.
Class of 2020 Reunion – as soon as we’re able
We’re planning a reunion for our graduating seniors—when things return to some semblance of normal—so they can come back together, reflect, and celebrate how far they’ve come.
What You’ll Be Supporting
During this year’s virtual gala, in addition to providing field trips and active-learning opportunities for our students, your donations will support us in providing these monumental celebrations for our graduating class of 2020. We are so proud of them!
Thank you for helping Bayhill High School realize our vision to help teens with learning differences succeed in high school, college, and beyond.
