Headline News

This winter and spring are filled with exciting opportunities to be involved in our Bayhill community.

WASC Accreditation: WASC is the Western Association of Schools and Colleges, a voluntary, non-governmental organization. An accredited school is focused on a mission and goals for students; it is student-oriented and examines its students’ performance continuously; it accepts objective evaluation from a team of outside peer professionals trained by ACS WASC; it maintains a qualified faculty within an effectively organized school; it collaboratively assesses the quality of its educational programs on a regular basis; and it plans for the future.

Bayhill’s six year WASC Accreditation visit is Monday March 20, Tuesday March 21, and Wednesday, March 22.  The WASC Pre-Visit is on Sunday, March 19. Shelley needs 3-4 parents on Sunday from 4-5 pm for the visit. Please rsvp to Kim if you can assist chao@bayhillhs.org.

Bayhill Spring Gala Casino Night and Auction: Saturday, April 29 at Bayhill. It’s a super fun evening for parents to socialize, play casino games and raise money for Bayhill !Last year’s Casino night brought in over $11,000. This year’s funds are going to the science and math departments.

We need parents to help plan and run this event!  Please rsvp to Kim if you can help chao@bayhillhs.org; we have jobs both big and small to fit your schedule. It’s a great way to get your parent volunteer hours in and get to know other Bayhill parents!

Annual Fund: Bayhill is allocating annual fund proceeds to PE and Science/Technology equipment for the 2017-2018 school year.  For the first time, we’re setting a goal of 25K.  Donations can be made via the Donor Perfect link on the Bayhill website.  Please check to see if your employer offers corporate matching.

After school sports: Our winter after school sports program started right after the holiday break. Bayhill Bengals Basketball team, competed against four other small school schools in the Bay Area with similar demographics.

EdRev (Education Revolution) 2017: A day to think a little differently is being held this year on Saturday, April 22 at AT&T Park in San Francisco.  EdRev is a unique day of information, resources, celebration and community for students who learn differently and the families and professionals who support them. PTO (Parent Teacher Organization) News

Bayhill’s PTO hosted a bagel and coffee Breakfast Gathering on Tuesday, December 6th.  Parents had an opportunity to mix, mingle and nosh, and hear Bayhill’s Transition Coordinator, Vanessa Brown, give a brief talk and answer questions on teens and money.

The PTO helped organize the Bayhill Holiday Luncheon in December.  Students and staff shared a festive potluck meal together with live entertainment from the Bayhill band, The Bengals. A big “thank you” to all the parents who brought food and beverages and helped serve and clean up!
