The Bayhill Parent Community Facebook page is the “go to” place for news about Bayhill and an opportunity to share information about other events and resources available to families of students with learning differences in the Bay Area.
Welcome new and returning Bayhill students and parents! We have 26 new students this year, including 19 new freshmen. Our freshmen had an opportunity to build friendship and trust at the Ropes Course on October 11th. Our sophomores are enjoying a three day camping trip to Samuel P. Taylor Park in Marin starting October 19.
The Annual Bayhill Family Picnic was held at Lake Temescal on October 1. Our families enjoyed building community and fellowship, Kinder’s BBQ, a variety of delicious potluck items and tossing the football. Thank you to the parents who helped meet their Bayhill parent work hours by signing up to help set up and clean up!
The annual Bayhill College and Transition Fair was held on October 11. Representatives from 2 and 4 year college programs, art schools, gap year programs, and transitional living programs, came to Bayhill to speak directly with our students and parents.

PEN (Parent Education Network) hosted an East Bay Welcome Meeting at Bayhill on September 22nd. Parents Education Network (PEN) is a coalition of parents collaborating with educators, students and the community to empower and bring academic and life success to students with learning and attention differences. 21 parents from around the East Bay attended. The group talked about how important it is for parents of kids who learn differently to have a safe place to connect with other parents who “get it” and different ways that we can take care of ourselves when we feel depleted. Please visit the PEN website at http://www.parentseducationnetwork.org to find out more about PEN and the events they offer.
Bayhill parents were invited to come together and connect at our PTO sponsored Back to School Parent Coffee on the first day of school. With many of our kids commuting from around the Bay Area, it was a great opportunity for our parents to build community.
Bayhill’s PTO is hosting a bagel and coffee Breakfast Gathering on Tuesday, December 6th at 8:30am. Besides time to mix, mingle and nosh, this Breakfast Gathering will feature Bayhill’s Transition Coordinator, Vanessa Brown, who will give a brief talk and answer your questions on teens and money. Teaching your teen how to manage their money is an important life skill and we know you’re not going to want to miss this!
The PTO will help organize the Bayhill Holiday Luncheon in December. Students and staff share a festive potluck meal together with live entertainment from the Bayhill band, The Bengals. As we get closer to the date, a Sign Up Genius will be sent for parents to sign up to bring food and beverages and help serve and clean up.

Hey Bayhill Supporters! Bayhill is seeking a donation of Ping Pong tables for the Ping Pong club. If you can help out, please contact Shelley at email@example.com.
Also, the Craft Club is looking for terra cotta pots to decorate as centerpieces for our future feasts. If you have any small sized pots (15” or smaller) that you can donate, please send them with your teen to school and have them tagged for Ms. OBrien/Craft Club. Thank you!
