Sophomore Camping Trip

September 8, 2011

Hello 10th Grade Parents and Guardians,

We had our first meeting yesterday as the class of 2015 to prepare for the camping trip.  We discussed Camp Rules, our itinerary for the three days, and personal gear that each student needs to bring.  I have attached each of these for you to look through.  Please go over these items with your child to be sure they are prepared.  I did remind them to be certain that their sleeping bag is warm enough for 40 degree temperatures at night.  I have several extras and if anyone needs to borrow one just let me know.

We seem to have enough tents, although we likely will need an additional 2-person tent for a parent chaperone.  We have a two-burner stove that is good to go and plenty of kitchen ware.  We do need to borrow several additional lanterns.

Most importantly, we need parent drivers!  Please help us make this journey possible by volunteering to drive us!

Next week, we will be discussing meals for the trip so stay tuned for more information as well as the permission slip.  As I have mentioned, the High Sierra / Island Lake Expedition tends to be a highlight of the high school experience for most if not all of our students.  Your support is much appreciated.

Sincerely,

Scott J DeFalco

P.S.  Current Rucker Lake weather is clear with highs in the 80's and lows in the 50's
